Merily Leotoots

Merily Leotoots began her musical studies at Keila Music School and continued at Tallinn Music High School, where she studied violin with Mari Tampere-Bezrodny and Sigrid Kuulmann, graduating in 2014. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Mari Tampere-Bezrodny.

Her further studies have taken her to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where she studied with Ofer Falk, and to the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK), where she studied with Lidia Baich. She has also studied privately with Pierre Amoyal.

Leotoots has participated in masterclasses with Kolja Blacher, Pavel Berman, Natalia Lomeiko, Sophia Jaffé and Petru Munteanu. Her recent international development includes the Sarasate Academy in Spain in 2025 and the Young Classic Europe masterclass in Italy.

Chamber music forms a central part of her artistic work. She has been a member of Trio Callistó since 2025 and is violinist of Duo EnPassant. She has also performed with the early-music ensemble in Kiili and previously with Quattuor Artium. In 2025 she took part in the Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival and in the world premiere of Artur Lemba’s piano quartet with Quattuor Artium.

Her recent and upcoming chamber projects include Trio Callistó’s “Shadows and Light of Vienna” concert at St Michael’s Swedish Church in Tallinn in March 2026, a Slovak debut in Bratislava, and a new work by Estonian composer Tõnis Kaumann at Tallinn’s House of the Blackheads. Her performances and projects have taken her to Estonia, Spain, Greece, the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe.
